Best Creative Portfolio

For this category, submissions can be done by individual or pair of students and should feature a collection of original advertisements. All advertisements should include design and copywriting elements. The judges will look at the individual parts of each advertisement, as well as at how the pieces work together to make a whole. They will consider the overall aesthetic of the portfolio, the breadth of creativity and how successful the advertisements are in connecting the audience to the brand/product.

Best Digital Ad

This category will honor outstanding student work on digital projects, including social media advertising, AdWords campaigns, blogs and web design. The judges will look at the individual parts of each advertisement, as well as at how the pieces work together to make a whole. They will consider each element in relation to the item or brand being advertised. Submissions will be accepted from J4204, Interactive Advertising I and II, and Digital Strategies.

Best Plan Book Design

This category will recognize outstanding student work on a plan book design. This category is based on a minimum of 5 spreads. Submissions will be accepted from AdZou, Sports and Entertainment Promotion, and Management of Strategic Communication.

Best Print Ad

For this category, submissions can be done by individual or pair of students and should feature an original advertisement. The judges will look at the copywriting, aesthetic of design, and overall concept of each advertisement. They will consider each element in relation to the item or brand being advertised. Submissions will be accepted from J4204, Strat Writing II, and Strat Design II.

Best PR Feature

This category will recognize outstanding student work on a public relations feature. These are stories that were written in Public Relations Writing and are primarily profile pieces on current students, alumni or J-School life.

Best Overall Research and Campaign Strategy

This category will recognize outstanding student work on overall research and campaign strategy. Submissions will be accepted from AdZou, Sports and Entertainment Promotion, and Management of Strategic Communication.

Best Short Form Video (>1:30)

This category will honor outstanding student work on a short form video (under 1 minute and 30 seconds). For this category, submissions can be done by an individual or small group of students and should feature only one original video. The video could include graphics or live shots. The judges will look at the individual parts of each video, as well as at how the pieces work together to make a whole. Submissions will be accepted from J4204, Intro to Promotional Video, and Promotional Video II.

Best Long Form Video (1:30-5:00)

This category will honor outstanding student work on a short form video (between one minute 30 seconds and 5 minutes). For this category, submissions can be done by an individual or small group of students and should feature only one original video. The video could include graphics or live shots. The judges will look at the individual parts of each video, as well as at how the pieces work together to make a whole. Submissions will be accepted from J4204, Intro to Promotional Video, and Promotional Video II.
